Webinar: Church and Nonprofit Facilities – Maintain and Gain

It’s much more expensive and disruptive to fix an emergency than it is to consistently provide your building with TLC.

Facility maintenance seems like a non-controversial idea … until we get to the particulars. For example, does it mean fixing things after they break, or making sure they don’t break? Preventative maintenance requires a consistent investment of time and money on the part of leadership staff and volunteers. Once the breadth of this commitment is understood, it often stalls out in committee and is discarded as a good idea for some other day. While churches, other houses of worship and nonprofits find maintenance optimal, it’s often neglected.

Yet there’s no question that, with building maintenance, a bill will come due. It’s much more expensive and disruptive to fix an emergency than it is to consistently provide your building with TLC. In addition, negligence in maintaining your facility may result in insurance claims being denied or coverage restrictions on your policy. If a religious organization allows a leak to go unfixed for years, and it results in a collapse, it has not lived up to its end of the insurance contract.

The hardest part about starting is … well … starting. Ministry Pacific has teamed with Matthew Olphin of Glatfelter Public Entities and Ministry Care, to help you begin or improve a facility maintenance plan. Matthew, Director of Client Risk Solutions, will discuss:

  • How facility maintenance saves money and provides peace of mind.

  • How facility disruptions can impact budgets and ministry activities (AKA pipe burst, etc.)

  • The most common facility risks and how to routinely address them.

  • A practical approach to identifying maintenance needs and scheduling upkeep.

  • Tips on budgeting for facility needs.

  • How routine maintenance is beneficial to insurance policy holders.

  • How to evaluate building contractors for price and quality.

Join us in this free webinar and learn how to protect and preserve your facility.
