Business Contents Insurance: Protect What's Not Nailed Down

Video: The Insurance Prof explains Business Contents Insurance.

If it's worth keeping, it's probably worth insuring. Make sure your contents are covered.

Business Contents? What's that? Whether you're a business, nonprofit, church or institution, business contents insurance is a must. "Business contents" are defined as things inside your building that aren't part of the building/structure itself. An easier, but less precise way of saying this is: Anything that's not nailed down is "business contents." This includes furniture, computer equipment, historic artifacts, statues, art, kitchen appliances, chairs and pews, instruments, sound and lighting equipment and more. If it's worth keeping, it's probably worth insuring. In the event of a big loss, knowing your contents are covered gives peace of mind.
