Free webinar on 2022 amendments to California AB 506

California’s AB 506, governing churches, ministries and the children they serve, was updated in 2022. find out what that means to you.

In this webinar, attorney and MinistrySafe founder Gregory Love explains recent changes to AB 506 and clarify what the original law still requires.

In 2021, the California State Legislature passed AB 506, impacting organizations that serve children and youth – including churches, nonprofits and ministries. The law requires volunteer background checks – including fingerprinting and running those prints against California's criminal database. This type of background check is commonly known in California as Live Scan. In addition, employees and volunteers must receive training that meets the state's standards for mandated abuse reporters.

What’s new? In 2022, the Legislature passed AB 2669, which made important changes to the original law. Some of those updates were made in response to feedback from the public. The changes impact the implementation date of the law’s mandates and regulations regarding youth counseling. In addition to watching the webinar below in its entirety, we invite you to dig deeper with these resources from MinistrySafe.
